Yesterday the doctors took Olive off of the ventilator and also removed the drain from her head. She still has her IVs, PICC line, and the ng tube in her mouth, but we are happy to have less. Tonight the neurosurgeon told me that with that drain in they removed about 400 ml of fluid out of her head. Craziness. Now that her drain is out we have been able to hold her as often as we like. Her head circumference has not increased over the last 48 hours, so this is good news. One of the biggest goals for the doctors a this point is to keep fattening her up. She now weighs 1.490 kilograms (3.3 lbs) and the goal is to get her to 2.0 kg. (4.4 lbs).
I can't help but think how cute and turtle-ish she is looking these days.

So cute and adorable, and you know I'm not biased!
She is cute! Biased or not.
She is a cutie. I think she has mischief in her eyes already.
400 CC'S??!!??!! Oh my word!!! It is astounding that her little head could hold all that - I am SO glad they got that OUT of there!!! Olive, you are looking like a little sweetheart!!!
She is indeed SO cute! And I'm sure all of us that are praying for her are in agreement on that!

She is adorable! I just love to look at her tiny face and her big eyes in these pictures. She has a look on her face as if she knows something we all dont and she is just waiting for us to figure it out!

You don't know me, but we're working at FLC in Chiang Rai and have been praying for Olive constantly. We have been in your place, but were blessed enough to have gotten back from Japan and had the baby in the states. Our hearts are with you more than I can say. Olive looks adorable and has such bright and beautiful eyes.
I love you and your little turtle. :) You are so funny Lynette!
She is so cute. And I always smile at how she has Rusty's nose.

Hi Rusty and Lynette -
I was at a women's conference yesteraday at Sonlight (I'm sure you'll hear about it from your Mom Rusty). It was amazing to hear this women's journey and how God's hand was in the "ripple" of the tragedy they encountered. When we go through something very difficult....there is a ripple effect...how many people's lives are impacted and changed. I can see the "ripple effect" of what you guys are going through...and how many lives have been touched by you and your beautiful daughter! Although we often don't know or understand the "why" behind our different journey's that life takes us...but as Christians, we know that God is holding us in His hand! I pray that you feel that comfort and peace each and every day!!
Thinking of and praying for you and your beautiful little gift from God!
