Infection?

This morning after coming to see Olive my heart dropped. She is having all the signs of infection that the neurosurgeon warned us about...fever, redness and swelling along the shunt line, tense fontanel, irritability, spitting up.

The neurosurgeon is on his way to look at her, but I think this may mean we will be transferring to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis to have the shunt removed. Maybe I'm talking too soon, but at this point I'm not sure how things could go another way.

Please be praying.

Father,
We bring little Olive to the foot of your precious Cross and plead with you to pour out the healing blood of Jesus Christ all over her. We pray that it would flood her little body, consume every inch of her being in your life and love. We specifically pray that you would perform a miracle in Olive's body, that you would bring life and healing to her little brain, removing all traces of infection. Father, we have no hope but You, no where to turn but to You, so we cling to your Cross and humbly ask that You would be glorified in Olive's body, that you would be sovereign in this situation, and that you would make yourself seen in her little life. I ask for peace for Rusty and Lynette, peace that only You can bring Lord. Bless them as they are apart. Please protect Rusty as he travels and reunite this family safely as he returns. Lord, You are good, You are enough!

Psalm 91
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. If you make the Lord your refuge,if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.
When they call on me, I will answer;I will be with them in trouble.I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”

Please, God, have mercy on sweet little Olive and all she has been through. Wish I could be there right now to give you a shoulder to cry on.

Just read on fb that Olive is being transported. Tears for you as the valley seems to deepen. May God prepare a table before you in the presence of the enemies of infection and fear.
